We kicked off our Bank Innovators Road Show September 3 in Birmingham, Alabama. Here is a short video of what the day looked like:
The purpose of our Bank Innovators Road Show is to reach bankers we might not otherwise reach. Bankers who might not attend events like Finovate, Money2020, Next Bank or the Financial Brand Forum, and this event will give them a new way of learning and networking in their own local market and in their local context.
Birmingham was the ideal place to begin – it is home to one of the largest banks in the country, Regions Bank, which has been recognized for recent innovations such as Online Appointment Setting, which gives the ability for customers to choose how and where they want to meet, and location based offers on its credit cards, powered by Cardlytics. Birmingham is also home to significant operations of BBVA Compass, Wells Fargo, BB&T, Cadence Bank, and several great community banks, including EvaBank.
After reviewing the disrupting forces through both familiar lenses and new perspectives through reframed thinking, participants examined case studies of some of the world’s most innovative banks before exploring the opportunities and threats most relevant to them for various customer segments. Then, we examined internal structures and archetypes and discovered new ways to help us reduce the time it take to implement new ideas. Participants enjoyed the fresh perspectives and took away new skills to but ideas into action.
