Bank Innovators Charlotte Workshop

By September 1, 2014Uncategorized

After stops in Birmingham and Atlanta, the Bank Innovators Council Road Show visited Charlotte, NC on September 8.

One of our country’s banking capitals, Charlotte is home to Bank of America and to significant operations for Wells Fargo since its acquisition of Wachovia, as well as several community banks. Charlotte is also home to a burgeoning startup and FinTech community.

Our host and sponsor for the Bank Innovators Charlotte Workshop was Packard Place, the hub for entrepreneurship and innovation in Charlotte. Their mission is to develop fast-growth businesses and the professional community to drive them. Banks partner with Packard Place to connect with entrepreneurs and discover and develop new ideas. A recent article in Bank Systems and Technology described how Bank of America utilizes start-ups to inspire its own innovation. Packard Place is also home to the QT FinTech accelerator, a 3-month boot-camp style program focused on identifying and accelerating growth for early stage FinTech companies. We are looking forward to spending time with the entrepreneurs and mentors at QT FinTech, and we excited to bring our workshop to this cutting-edge venue.
